On Thursday morning, the accused Jayvon Caesar appeared in the Port of Spain Magistrates Court to answer charges of murder against his landlady Vidya Persad.
30 year old Ceasar of La Canoa Road, Santa Cruz, appeared before Chief Magistrate, Marcia Ayres-Caesar, after surrendering to police on Tuesday.
Vidya Persad was killed in Aranguez on August 6 after she attempted to evict the accused who was said to owe outstanding rent.
Persad died from a hammer blow to the head.
The accused was remanded in prison custody and will reappear in court on September 12.
