The Teaching Service Commission is being taken to task this morning by the Minister of Education Anthony Garcia.

He says that the Service has not been functioning effectively for quite some time.

Speaking on the Morning Edition this morning the Education Minister said that the Commission seemed to be confused about its role in terms of appointing teaching staff.

The Early Childhood Teachers Trade UnionMeanwhile…The Early Childhood Teachers Trade Union is calling for outstanding matters affecting its members to be addressed.

It’s an issue highlighted by the Jamiele Sydney President of the ECTTU.

He was speaking on the all-day labour movement special programme on Power 102.1fm.

The union represents over eight thousand early childhood teachers.

Mr Sydney claimed that while union is pushing for its members to be regularized there are troubling developments which are posing challenges to its members.

He warned the union is not afraid to take its grievances to the relevant authority for redress.
