Winston 3 Finance Minister Winston Dookeran admits to a communication gap between governments and the people

Today at the Commission of inquiry into the 1990 attempted coup he said it was so then, and it’s the same now

At the time he was addressing the issue of what could have led to the attempted coup

The idea was that government frustrated the people by not letting them know the reasons for its stringent relationship with the IMF, and why the relationship was critical to rebuilding the economy at the time

Mr Dookeran also said he felt a lack of understanding caused the downturn of the Government of the day
