The Prime Minister raises questions on possible underhanded benefits received by police officers during the People’s Partnership’s term in office

Cleaver 1The Police Complaints Authority has initiated an independent investigation into allegations regarding officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service receiving preferential treatment in attaining HDC houses among other benefits.

PCA said these allegations are serious as it has the potential to compromise our criminal justice system.

Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley highlighted the matter while speaking at Thursday’s Post Cabinet media briefing.

In a statement the PCA confirmed that it will probe the allegations to determine whether or not the conduct of the officers falls within the PCA’s remit.

The organization said it is also asking for any witnesses or persons with information to kindly contact the PCA at 800-2PCA /800-2722
