Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley, is taking issue with a daily newspaper headlines today which describes the late former Patrick Manning was a racist. Speaking at the weekly post cabinet media briefing this afternoon Dr Rowley defended how the Manning led People's National Movement government related to the sugar industry especially at a time when it was on the verge of collapse. Dr Rowley insisted that the decision to put large amount of state funding to revive the struggling industry cannot be viewed as a racist gesture. He said evidence given by the person who made the claim if reviewed carefully will reveal that the allegation is not true. CLICK FOR AUDIO
