Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley has responded to Prison Officers’ threat that they may in fact walk off the job, if swift action is not taken in dealing with their safety concerns.
Their threat comes in light of Monday’s murder of 32 year old Prison Officer, Fitzalbert Victor Junior, who was gunned down at his Laventille home while washing his vehicle.
It is now reported that the slain officer’s name had been on an active prison hit list of which the number has now decreased to 14.
Speaking on the matter in Tobago yesterday, this country’s Prime Minister said the population expects that they will do their duty.
Recently, Prison Officers Association President, Ceron Richards said the confidence of Prison Officers has dwindled.
