Dead are Luenda Anthony and Ricky Mohammed.
Reports indicate that shortly after midnight explosions were heard in the couple’s home at Limefield Road, Cochrane Village, Guapo.
Anthony’s relatives who live in an adjoining house rushed over to find the front door broken down and the two lying in bed with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the head.
They were taken by ambulance to the Point Fortin Area Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
Autopsies are expected to be conducted today at the Forensic Sciences Centre.
Meanwhile, Western Division police are investigating a report of a homicide in Dibe on Monday night.
While information is still coming to hand, initial report indicates that around 8:30pm residents of Aboud Circular, Dibe, heard several explosions, and upon investigating they found the bullet-riddled body of a man lying in a track.
The police were notified and a team of officers from the St James Police Station and the Western Division Task Force responded.
The man was later identified as 22 year old Akiel Romain of St Francois Valley Road, Belmont.
In another incident, An 18-year-old man is dead while his 13-year-old friend has been hospitalized following a shooting in Enterprise late Monday.
According to police reports, around 5:30pm on Monday, Nicholas Simeon of John Street, Enterprise was with his 13-year-old friend when upon reaching the vicinity of African Grounds, two men rode up on bicycles and challenged the 18-year-old.
One of the men then drew a firearm and shot at the two friends several times.
The assailants then left the scene on their bicycles.
Simeon was shot in the head and chest, he died on the scene.
The 13-year-old girl had been shot in the arm. She was taken to the Chaguanas District Hospital for treatment.
The assailants, police said, were well known to them and several police exercises were conducted in the Enterprise districts for the assailants.
However, up to this morning the suspects were still at large.
