Come tomorrow the Police 2nd Division Welfare Association is expected to get a response from the Chief Personnel Officer, Stephanie Lewis on her decision as to whether or not they would receive their 20 percent salary demand.
This is according to Secretary of the Association Sergeant Michael Seales.
Mr. Seales said for months officers had been demanding that government increase their salary by 40 per cent but they are now willing to accept a 20 per cent increase instead.
In an interview with newspower authority this afternoon Mr. Seales said they had even written to the CPO expressing disappointment that she had not responded to the association’s decision to cut their salary demand.
However, on the issue of the five percent which was offered, Mr. Seales explained on three occasions, a vote was taken by the association and as a result, the offer was rejected by the majority of officers in their membership…
