The Joint Trade Union Movement says austerity measures, equality and the threat of privatization are some of the issues that will be addressed during tomorrow’s mass march and public rally in Port of Spain.
The National Trade Union Centre and the Federation of Independent Trade Unions and NGOs are also supporting the event.
Friday’s march marks the end of nation-wide mobilization efforts of the Trade Union Federations over the past few weeks.
Comrades of the Labour Movement will assemble at 1.30 p.m. at the Brian Lara Promenade, where each Union present will deliver solidarity greetings before the March proceeds.
Following the March, a Public Rally will take place on the Brian Lara Promenade from 4 to 6 p.m.
There will be five major speeches by various Trade Union leaders at the Rally.
