Traffic restrictions for the State funeral of former Prime Minister, Patrick Manning, on Saturday will take effect from 6am to 3pm in Port of Spain.
The Police Service explained that between 6:00am and 3:00pm vehicular traffic and parking will be prohibited on Abercromby Street between Independence Square North and Duke Street.
Between 6:00am and 3:00pm parking will also be prohibited on the following streets: Independence Square South between Broadway and Edward Street, Independence Square North between Edward Street and Abercromby Street, Frederick Street between Park Street and Independence Square North.
The restrictions will also extend to Edward Street between Queen Street and Duke Street, Knox Street between St. Vincent Street and Frederick Street, Duke Street between Frederick Street and Edward Street and Hart Street between Frederick Street and St. Vincent Street.
Citizens are also advised of the relocation of St Ann’s and St James stands.
St. Anns and Cascade – from Hart Street to Queen Street between Frederick Street and Abercromby Street on the northern side and St. James – from Hart Street to Henry Street between Prince Street and the western side of Duke Street.
Members of the public are further advised that parking will be permitted on the paved portion of the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain, for persons attending the viewing of the body of the former Prime Minister, which will lie in state at the National Academy for the Performing Arts, today from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
