They were held in that country on charges of conspiracy and espionage.
The update comes from Foreign and Caricom Affairs Minister, Dennis Moses.
He told reporters this afternoon that a meeting between officials from this country’s embassy in Caracas as well as from the Immigration and the Detention facilities did not come off on Wednesday.
However, he remains confident once this meeting is held soon to finalize matters the Trinidad and Tobago nationals will be able to return home.
Speaking at the weekly post cabinet media briefing this afternoon Minister Moses also gave an update on nationals who were detained in Turkey after they were reportedly held for trying to enter into Syria to join an extremist group.
