Several areas across East and Central Trinidad were heavily affected by the downpour of rain yesterday.
According to the Meteorological Office the heavy rains were the result of the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone.
Residents of Enterprise Chaguanas and La Horquetta were badly affected, as river banks broke due to the rain fall as well as a constant littering.
This is according to the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management.
News Power Now spoke with Chief executive officer of the ODPM , Dr Stephen Ramroop who said citizens must be mindful of where they build homes.
He also cautioneid that persons must avoid littering by all means.
Dr. Ramroop went on to add that all persons who were affected received assistance and was able to have their homes cleared of water and debris.
