This country’s High Commission in London confirms that all nationals within the diaspora who are registered with it are safe following the terror attack which resulted in death and injury at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, London on Monday.
The Ministry of Foreign and Caricom Affairs reveals that the High Commission will continue conducting routine checks with the relevant authorities and has issued alerts to ensure that nationals are aware of the safety measures that were implemented in Manchester and around the country, as a result of the increase of the terror threat level to “critical” which is the highest level.
In a media release this afternoon, the Ministry added that the High Commission has encouraged all nationals to be vigilant and to adhere to the advertised security measures.
It said that nationals have also been advised to contact the Mission in the event of any emergency.
The Ministry advised citizens travelling abroad to register their stay with the Registration System for Nationals Travelling Abroad via register.foreign.gov.tt.
This free service allows the Trinidad and Tobago Overseas Missions to contact nationals to ensure that they are safe and to provide important information.
