The murder toll continues to rise steadily in this country just eleven days into the New Year, with the latest killing recorded yesterday morning in Pleasantville.
Reports state that 26 year old Jahmie Donaldson and 30 year old Akeemie Wilson were shot dead while cutting bush at Elm Street, Coconut Drive, Pleasantville.
The men were said to be trimming a fence around 11:30 yesterday morning when a silver Lancer car stopped in front of Donaldson’s house. The occupants pointed guns through the windows of the car and started shooting at Wilson and Donaldson. They died on the spot.
Police believe high-powered guns were used by the killers.
Crime scene investigators found over 20 spent shells at the scene.
Wilson, a grass cutter, of Golconda Settlement, was helping Donaldson cut grass at his home before they went further down the street to clean another property owned by the Donaldson’s family.
Apart from a gas station robbery charge against Wilson more than a year ago, police said neither of the men was known to be involved in criminal activity.
