Up to last night, the country’s murder toll continued to increase with two men shot dead between Christmas Day and Boxing night.
In the first incident, 57 year old Robert Francis Carrington was shot dead on Nelson Street on Christmas night.
Carrington was shot by an unknown gunman at around 9pm as he exited his Nelson Street apartment near to the South East secondary School.
He was taken to the Port- of- Spain General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival, then at around 11am on Tuesday, 31- year- old Dwayne Knights was shot dead in the Bagatelle area in Diego Martin.
Knight, who was a taxi driver, also operated a car wash.
It was at the car wash where he was reportedly approached by a man who shot him five times, killing him on the spot.
