Two teenaged boys were expected to appear before an Arima Magistrate today, charged with the murder of Francis Stafford, which occurred on January 25th, and wounding with intent against a female friend of the victim.
The accused, a 15-year-old and a 14-year-old, both of the Northern Division, are also charged with possession of firearm and possession of ammunition, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard on Wednesday.
33 -year- old Mr. Stafford, aka “Fanny” a landscaper, also of the ND, was in the company of a 24-year-old female friend when two assailants, one armed with a gun, approached and opened fire.
The victim ran off, but was pursued by his attackers, who continued shooting at him.
He was hit multiple times about the body and died at the scene.
The victim’s female friend was also shot and wounded in the incident.
