United National Congress Deputy Political Leader hopeful Garvin Nicholas.

You don’t need to be in Parliament to run the party, and persons must move away from the idea that it is necessary to do so.

These comments came from Deputy Political Leader hopeful Garvin Nicholas as he spoke on the Power Breakfast morning show on Power 102.1fm this morning.

Nicholas is on Vasant Bharath’s team Reconnect alongside Stacy Roopnarine and Stephen Cadiz.

The Former Attorney General stated that the United National Congress as an organisation was not part of the Parliamentary process.

He also stated that a political party such as the UNC could use its members who represent the party in parliament to debate legislative agenda.

He disclosed that after internal elections persons would get on with the business of the party.

He cited the UK and the United States as an example of this.
