Trinidad Cement Limited is informing the public that the police officers who patrol their Claxton Bay compound are not on the company’s payroll.
Sources have revealed that the officers sent to the compound either volunteer for additional service, or are off duty officers.
TCL says that they pay the Police Service, which in turn pays the officers.
This comes after Police Commissioner Dwayne Gibbs yesterday put an immediate end to all extra duties for the officers working at the TCL compound following a meeting with the Oilfield Workers Trade Union
OWTU President General Ancil Roget spoke to the media about the outcome of that meeting.
