The voting process serves as a formality since current President Sepp Blatter stands alone in the election race.
His only opponent, Quatar’s Mohamed Bin Hammam withdrew from the race following his suspension by the FIFA Ethics Committee….
Following the election, Blatter promised to begin radically changing the organisation.
…..Just yesterday, suspended FIFA Vice President, Jack Warner, urged the Caribbean Football Union to stay true to its previous position and vote for Blatter, in today’s FIFA election.
Warner wrote to members of the CFU on Tuesday, and asked them to refrain from any form of protest and to attend today’s Congress in Zurich.
