Opposition Senator Wade Mark, says the Attorney General and by extension the Government are not being truthful with the citizenry as it relates to the Anti-Gang Legislation.
He claims that the Attorney General is not being truthful in saying that the Anti-Gang Bill is the same Bill that was bought to Parliament by the previous administration.
He said that between 2011 when it was passed to the time that it was brought last year the Legislation had not achieved its desired effect.
He added that according to the DPP reasons for its failure could be linked to the lack of training, infrastructure, expertise or intelligence needed to prosecute persons housed under the Legislation.
Mark maintained that based on this, and the increase in gangs, a decision was made to support the Bill with a sunset clause.
