The Water and Sewage Authority has repaired a ruptured 6” main on 9th street, Beetham Gardens, however the authority is today warning citizens against the practice of constructing fences and other heavy structures atop their pipelines.

The broken 6″ distribution main is said to have occurred after a resident constructed a fence over a section of the pipeline. The Authority also completed repairs to a ruptured sewer main in the area caused by the construction of homes and fences over the pipeline infrastructure.

Home-owners are further being advised that this practice may prove dangerous as ruptures along these lines can lead to property, as well as physical damage.
