(Full Media Release)

“Trinidad and Tobago will begin to experience after midnight cloudy skies with intermittent showers and rain, some of which will be moderate to heavy.

This is due to the presence of an active Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) trailing the Tropical Wave which passed on Saturday 17th August 2013.

These conditions will persist for the next 6-8 hours with light to moderate and occasionally heavy showers or rain and isolated thundershowers.

Gusty winds can be expected in the vicinity of showers and thundershowers and street or flash flooding will occur in heavy downpours. Because of the already saturated grounds, additional rainfall may lead to landslides/landslips.

Citizens are therefore advised to be vigilant and cautious as they conduct their activities during the next 6-8 hours

WE WISH TO UNDERSCORE THAT AT THIS TIME TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO IS NOT UNDER ANY TROPICAL STORM

THREAT, WATCH OR WARNING.

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service is closely monitoring weather conditions and will issue another bulletin if the situation warrants”.
