As Trinidad and Tobago nationals being held in Venezuela engage in protest over the delay in their transfer from the prison in which they are being held to a detention center in preparation for their release, Head of The Islamic Front, Umar Abdullah has taken the decision to carry out similar actions here at home.
Today, Abdullah advised that if by Jumuah today the five nationals are not moved, Members of the Islamic Front together with the
families and members of the wider Muslim Community and members of the public will be proceeding to our Ministry of Foreign
Affairs at the International Waterfront Complex, Wrightson Road, Port of Spain.
He indicated that when they arrive there he would seek a meeting with the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs after which the
group would remain there in protest and not leave until our brothers are safely on a flight back home.
Abdullah says that ever minute those men stay in captivity is a crime against their human rights.
