livecricketscore-7598West Indies are currently down to their tail-end batsmen and still requiring some 163 runs to affect a first victory over marauding Pakistan in their variety series in the United Arab Emirates.

 

At 312 for 8 chasing a record 456 to win, the West Indies are seeing Devendra Bishoo , Miguel Cummins and Shannon Gabriel as their last line of defence with the tea break ahead, then the post-tea final session of what is the second Test.

 

West Indies not only lost the first but were being beaten by the Pakistanis for the seventh straight match after losses in the tour-start-up three T20s then the three One Day Internationals.

 

West Indies resumed their second innings at 171 for 4 today with frontline batters Kraigg Braithwaite (67), Leon Johnson (9), Darren Bravo (13) and Marlon Samuels (23) out.

 

The overnight pair of Chase (20) and Jermaine Blackwood (96) succumbed to leg-spinner Yasir Shah who went on to also get the wicket of Windies captain Jason Holder (16) and achieve a five-wicket haul for the eighth time in an 18-Test career.

Shai Hope who replaced keeper Shane Dowrich in the West Indies line-up was the eighth wicket down – Hope making a dour 41.

 

But with the tailenders in Pakistan’s 42-year-old captain Misbah ul Haq is continuing to press on for a win, leaving the series-closing third Test for West Indies to save face
