The Ministry of Education says ten schools which were closed due to the heavy rainfall and flood waters have reopened today.
In a media release the Ministry thanked the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service, Ministry of Works and Transport, Regional Corporations, MTS, other agencies, parents, teachers and principals who have contributed to the reopening of these schools.
Meanwhile, the Ministry said that five schools are currently being used as emergency shelters.
They are Bamboo Grove Presbyterian, La Horquetta South Government Primary School, Las Lomas Government Primary School, Madras Government Primary School and St. David’s RC Primary School.
The release also indicated that fifteen schools remain closed as a result of adverse weather.
