11 Police officers will be placed on an ID parade today.
The officers were arrested yesterday morning for burning a man with hot water while he was detained at the Sangre Grande police station.
According to reports, Lewis gave himself up to police at the Sangre Grande Police Station on February 25 for questioning into a housebreaking and larceny matter.
It is alleged that during questioning officers stripped Andrew Lewis naked, heated a bowl of water in the microwave and then threw the boiling water on his lower extremities and stomach.
He had to be taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Center due to the severity of the burns.
Twelve police officers were arrested and taken in police custody yesterday morning in an operation by officers of the Professional Standards Bureau in the Eastern Division.
Among those arrested were an acting inspector, a sergeant, an SRP sergeant, three acting corporals and six police constables (including one WPC).
