Monthly paid workers of the Water and Sewage Authority will receive salary increases for the years 2011, 2012 and 2013 in 4% and 5% amounts respectively.
The Public Services Association and the Water and Sewage Authority yesterday concluded negotiations on behalf of the monthly paid workers of the authority, and signed a memorandum of agreement at WASA’s St. Joseph head office.
The settlement translates into an overall salary increase of 13% over the three year period with additional increases allotted to Cost of Living Allowance, travelling and subsistence allowance.
Separately, an agreement was struck between the negotiating parties, relative to the working hours of the employees with a pilot basis of amended working hours agreed upon. Employees will now work from 6am-2pm, or 9am to 5pm, 12 noon to 8pm or 2pm to 10pm.
Parties also agreed to review and replace by June 30th 2015, the current Tribunal System for disciplinary matters.
