Police have intercepted a pirogue with 18 Venezuelan citizens aboard.
Reports say the pirogue was about to dock in Carenage on Wednesday morning when it was intercepted by police.
Video footage reportedly shows 9 Venezuelan men lying on a jetty while police search the boat. There were also 6 women and 3 children aboard the vessel when it was intercepted.
Immigration officials have been called in to question the Venezuelans. Reports say there were no Trinidadians aboard the vessel when it was intercepted.
The Police and Coast Guard have yet to release any information pertaining to the incident.
