coup+copy1Twenty Five years ago to this date insurrectionists stormed the Parliament Chamber housed at the Red House in Port of Spain in what has now become known as the attempted coup of 1990.
Many lost their lives in the incident including Special Reserve Police Officer, Solomon McLeod (killed at Police Headquarters), M.P. for Diego Martin Central, Leo Des Vignes, Assistant Superintendent, Roger George and Estate Policeman, Malcolm Basanta.
1990 attempted coup victim Wendell Eversley has criticized politicians and the Inter Religious Organization for what he describes as their refusal to effectively commemorate the incident.
He made the comments in an interview with News Power Now this morning.

He claimed that then Prime Minister the deceased Mr. Robinson would turn in his grave if he knew what was taking place.
He also stated that he planned to pray for the country.
