Sixteen persons are now in custody and over 200 pounds of marijuana seized following a police exercise in St Joseph this morning.

According to reports, officers made their way to several areas in the St Joseph community, including places like Bangladesh and Wharf Trace.

Acting on information received, the officers detained 16 persons between the ages of 15 and 53.

They are all expected to be questioned before being brought before a Tunapuna Magistrate tomorrow.

The exercise was spearheaded by Snr Sup Hendron Moses, with assistance from Inspector Hernandez and Sgt Katwaroo, as well as several officers from the Northern Division and the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force.
