A Trinidad & Tobago 20-player under-20 Boys Football squad will convene for a training camp in Florida on January 1 as it prepares for the 2015 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship, a 12-nation tournament taking place in Jamaica January 9 to 24.
The tournament will crown the Confederation champion at this age level, and qualify four teams to the FIFA Under-20 World Cup to b held in New Zealand May 30th to June 20th 2015.
Trinidad and Tobago are one of the six Group A teams for round-robin preliminary-round play.
Host Jamaica, Aruba, Panama, the United States and Guatemala complete the Group.
Group B contains Haiti, Canada, Mexico, Cuba, Honduras and El Salvador.
TT’s Florida jaunt sees them guesting at the Shula’s Hotel and Resort in Miami Lakes with St. Thomas University ground the training base.
TEAN Head coach Derek King, who led the squad to a 3-0 win over Haiti in the final of the Caribbean Under-20 Championship , is looking forward to completing preparations for the confederation competition.
Linking up with the selection will be United States-based players defender Leland Archer (College of Charleston), midfielder Duane Muckette (University of South Florida) and Brendon Creed (Temple University) and forward Ricardo John (Virginia Tech University).
The junior Soca Warriors open the tournament against host Jamaica in Kingston on January 9.
