Over $220,000 was spent by the state to host the forum entitled, “Spotlight on Trinidad and Tobago’s Financial Circumstances: The Road Ahead.
It was held on September 27th, 2017 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Port-of-Spain.
The forum was designed to educate the public on the country’s economic position.
The Labour Movement was invited to be part of the discussions, however they refused the invitation.
Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Stuart Young, claimed that the event was successful and government is hoping it becomes an annual forum.
However, Opposition Member of Parliament, Dr. Roodal Moonilal appealed to the state to consider reducing the cost to host such an event in the future.
