Family members of the remaining five Muslim nationals detained in Venezuela are requesting that Government send a delegation to Caracas to negotiate the release of the men.
The request was made to Minister of National Security Minister Gary Griffith as he met with the families yesterday.
Representatives of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, National Security Ministry, Office of the Prime Minister, and National Operations Centre were also present at the meeting.
The group of Muslims was arrested during a raid at the Plaza Hotel in Caracas on March 19.
18 of the detainees have since been released.
Nafeesa Mohammed, the attorney representing the families of the remaining detainees, said she hopes that the National Security Minister can bring the situation to an end.
