The mother of 17-year-old Ricardo Mohammed has called justice for her son who was shot by a police officer on Sunday.
An autopsy on Ricardo revealed that he died from a bullet which entered his back and exited through his chest.
The post-mortem also revealed that he bled to death.
Ricardo was killed while at a party in the Chaguaramas Military Museum.
According to police, an on-duty officer seized some marijuana from a patron who then followed the officer and attempted to take his gun.
They added that a struggle ensued for the gun and the 9mm pistol discharged hitting the teen.
But party-goers said this was not the case.
They said officer had arrested a man who was smoking marijuana but did not handcuff him. They added that the man then attempted to flee and it was then the officer withdrew his gun and fired a shot that missed and struck Ricardo.
Ricardo’s mother, Telisha Charles criticized police for what happened.
She said her child’s life was lost for nothing adding that the police are never held accountable for their crimes.
Ms. Charles does not believe she will get justice and has left it to God
