The Ministry of Health says the number of confirmed influenza deaths for the current flu season is thirty-nine as of Friday, January 17th.
It explains that the cumulative number of vaccines administered to the public for this flu season is sixty-seven thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven.
In a media release the Ministry indicated that the number of suspected influenza cases for the 2020 calendar year is twenty-nine, while the number of suspected influenza cases for the 2019 calendar year was three thousand, seven hundred and fifty-five.
The release explained that the Influenza virus is serious and is generally more severe than the common cold.
The public is reminded that the flu vaccine is available, at no cost, at all health centres.
