The University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre (UWI-SRC) has announced that a 4.4 magnitude earthquake has rocked Venezuela and parts of Trinidad.
This is the eighth earthquake to hit the island in less than two weeks.
The earthquake was located 113 km W of San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago
Several earthquakes that have been felt in various parts of Trinidad and Tobago recently have caused some concern among residents.
Seismologist Dr Joan Latchman says that minor earthquakes are nothing new in the region.
In fact, she maintains that we can feel earthquakes with a magnitude 3.8 that occur in the Gulf of Paria every month, which is normal.
