Trinidad and Tobago’s Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh has confirmed 40 new cases of COVID-19 in Trinidad and Tobago. Up to Friday evening, the number of confirmed cases stood at 9.

The 40 new patients have reportedly been admitted to one ward at the Couva Hospital. According to reports, one of the cases was locally transmitted. Also, one of the patients who’d been previously warded with COVID-19, has been treated and is well enough to be discharged.

The Health Minister assured that the ministry would be broadening testing very soon.
