A 48 year old grandmother is presently at hospital wondering whether or not she will ever use her hands again…this after a scratch bomb exploded in them.
Sallyann Cuffy of Phipps Trace Talparo says she has been in immense pain since a scratch bomb, which was thrown into the vehicle she was travelling in, exploded in her hands.
Speaking with News Power Now this morning Cuffy explained that on Divali night she went driving with her family to view the lights in the area.
However the happy occasion turned sour when a scratch bomb landed in the vehicle next to her 5 month old granddaughter and 6 year old grandson.
She said that the damage to her hands has been extensive and she is unable to care for herself at present.
Cuffy is calling on the Government to ban scratch bombs in Trinidad and Tobago.
