Political Leader of the National Solidarity Assembly, Nirvan Maharaj, is appealing to the Finance Minister to immediately retract several aspects of the 2018 Budget.
He is also calling on Minister Colm Imbert to apologize to the nation for what he described as unleashing further hardship and pain on the population.
In a media release Mr. Maharaj said if further analysis reveals consequences leading to increased suffering for the ordinary man, then the Budgetary proposals must be examined and changed.
He also took issue with the agriculture sector being allocated the least amount of money in the Budget.
Mr. Maharaj claims the state has failed to address the problems of a lack of infrastructural development, lack of access roads, water supply, drainage, irrigation, intense flooding and crop loss and the expansion of the Praedial Larceny squad and the Forest Ranger Squad.
