A 7 year old boy has died at hospital, after choking on a pholourie. Second year pupil, Shazard Mohammed was rushed to hospital after he began choking on the item of food, that was brought for him, by his mother. The incident unfolded at around 3:15pm on Monday.

According to reports, Mohammed, a student of the Clarke Rochard Government Primary School, collapsed shortly after eating the Indian delicacy, and while his mother attempted to help him, efforts proved futile. He was rushed to the Siparia Health facility by ambulance, however he was pronounced dead on arrival.

An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death.
