Pan Trinbago President, Beverley Ramsey-Moore confirms that the organisation is tens of millions of dollars in the red due to a lack of accountability in the past.
Speaking during an interview on Power102FM this morning, Mrs Ramsey-Moore responded to the revelations made in a story in the Trinidad Guardian newspaper, concerning an audit conducted on the organisation’s operations.
The audit report by Ernst and Young noted a lack of invoices, an absence of documentation regarding major contracts, amounting to millions of dollars.
It also raised the issue of questionable procurement practices and several instances of non-compliance regarding the disbursement of funds.
Mrs. Ramsey-Moore revealed the debt figure facing the organization due to alleged mismanagement.
She said she is not surprised by the state of the organization and what her executive met, however, with optimism, the Pantrinbago President said she hopes to see some sort of recourse or justice, and is willing to take action and work with the relevant authorities to ensure this happens.
