One person is dead and five others injured this afternoon following an accident involving a bus this morning in Tobago.
One passenger, 50-year-old Roosevelt Kerr, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Scarborough General Hospital after being pulled
from the wreckage along with the other passengers.
Preliminary reports state that the bus was travelling along the northern side of Tobago near L’Anse Fourmi at around 5:00 am today
when it plunged approximately 30 feet down a precipice.
In an interview with News Power Now this morning, Chief Fire Officer Roosevelt Bruce confirmed the death.
According to the National Safety Council Traffic fatalities were up 9 percent in the first six months of this year compared to the same period last year.
