Despite criticism meted out against the government from some quarters, Works and Infrastructure Minister, Dr Suruj Rambachan, claims the ruling administration has been able to attract foreigner investors.

He made the point while speaking during the Appropriation (Financial Year 2014) Bill in the House of Representatives on Tuesday.

Minister Rambachan insisted due to political stability, confidence in the economy and other critical factors, investors are comfortable setting up their businesses and operations in this country.

He said government must be commended for its position relating to the gradual removal of the fuel subsidy, admitting if the issue is not handled properly it will lead to serious implications for citizens and the business community.
