There are reports of a serious accident which claimed the lives of a woman and her two children this morning.

Reports state that accident occurred n the corner of Mausica junction and the Priority Bus Route around 11 pm last night.

According to reports, the driver of a B14 vehicle allegedly ran the red light and slammed into two cars, including the one carrying the mother and her children.

The impact caused the mother and her children, ages 7-years-old and 2-months-old – to be thrown from the vehicle.

They died on the spot.

The driver is currently warded at hospital and will be interrogated by police.

Police say it appears that the driver was intoxicated


Meanwhile in an update Coordinator TTPS Strategic Road Safety Project Brent Batson says that the father of the two deceased children is still at Hospital at this time.

He was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident.

The driver of the other vehicle does not appear to have sustained any serious injuries.

Speaking with News Power Now this morning he reiterated the importance of obeying all traffic laws.

He also called on the public to ensure that their children are safely strapped into their seats in the vehicles.


And Family members of Carla Collins who lost her life in a car accident is today warning motorists to adhere to the law and not drink and drive.

Kerry Cielto brother to Keston Collins who is currently nursing wounds at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital is today grieving for his sister-in-law and two nephews who lost their lives last night in the Mausica area.

Cielto spoke to News Power Now this morning and said that his entire family are at a lost for words following the accident.
