A shooting with police officers early this morning has led to the death of an Enterprise man and protests in the area.
The incident took place along Walter Lane, Enterprise.
It is alleged that the man was confronted by police officers, during which there was a shootout between the two parties.
The suspect – identified as Anthony Mitchell – was killed in the exchange.
There are allegations that Mitchell was a senior member of the Unruly Isis Gang, however, Looptt quotes police sources as saying that he was “known to them in connection with investigations into several criminal activities in the district.”
A 9mm firearm was reportedly recovered at the scene.
No police officers are said to have been harmed.
However, residents of the area are already claiming that there was not a shootout, and that police shot Mitchell without warning.
As a result, several persons blocked the roadways along Walter Lane and Crown Trace in Enterprise.
