Persons who do not abide by the law will face consequences. National Security Minister Stuart Young this afternoon made it clear that while it is not government’s will to charge anyone during this time, the police and other protective service members will do what is necessary to ensure the safety of the public at large.

Members clubs or casinos, bars, in-dining restaurants and movie theatres have been ordered to close their businesses for one month, officially beginning today, Friday, March 20th. “This will be for one month in the first instance and and a new law has given law enforcement officials the permission to charge persons if necessary, for disobeying the law,” said Minister Young.

Minister Young urged the people of Trinidad and Tobago to be disciplined and listen to the measures being put in place by the government at this time.
