Fishermen and Friends of the sea, General Secretary, Gary Aboud

Environmental Activist, Gary Aboud, says he believes it is the Government’s responsibility to address the oil spill in the Gulf of Paria. He is accusing the Government of having wrong priorities.

Speaking with News Power Now, the Secretary of the  group- Fishermen and Friends of the Sea (FFOS), called on the Prime Minister to respond as to how he is going to compensate fisherfolk for their losses.

Mr. Aboud said the oil is moving rapidly and he expects the impact to be strong, as the oil is expected to affect the entire West Coast by later this week.

Mr. Aboud questions the priorities of the Government, saying Dr. Rowley needs to wake up and smell the roses as the situation is affecting lives.
