Acting Police Commissioner Stephen Williams says instances of election violence will be treated with as a matter of urgency by the police service.
Only yesterday, the People’s National Movement complained about violence against some of its candidates as well as death threats being received.
Speaking with News Power Now, Commissioner Williams warned political parties to keep it clean.
Last week Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar called for security for her supporters and candidates.
Mr. Williams says the police always have a presence at political activities and will continue to do so.
