Members of the Highway Re-route Movement are being urged by Acting Prime Minister, Dr Roodal Moonilal, to adhere to the law.
On Thursday women of the group carried out a sit down protest on the grounds of the Office of the Prime Minister.
However, they were removed by security personnel.
The movement is urging government to cancel the Debe to Mon Desir section of the San Fernando to Point Fortin Highway citing environmental, social and economic concerns.
They also want the government to adhere to the recommendations of the James Armstrong led independent committee on the mega project.
Mr. Moonilal insisted citizens must comply with the laws of the land as they highlight their concerns.
