Adjustments to legislative framework needed, says Acting Commissioner of Police.

STEPHEN WILLIAMS 3Acting Commissioner of Police, Stephen Williams, who is currently on vacation leave, says there needs to be an adjustment of the legislative framework as it relates to firearms in this country.

The Minister’s comment came on the heels of Wednesday’s police media briefing where it was revealed that police officers face great challenges when it comes to taking firearms off the street.

The top cop said there must be some level of collaboration between the police and the faith based organisations, in tackling the problem of gun violence in Trinidad and Tobago.
